Gregsons Guide to Picking the Perfect Pot Plant

2 Min Read

There are many benefits to adding pot plants to inside and outside areas of your home or office! By adding plants to your interior space, you help bring a little outside in, clean the air and create a relaxing environment. Outside styling doesn’t need to be an expensive or a tedious exercise, pots can instantly add appeal and structure to a garden bed or external space, making a bare area instantly attractive!

Knowing what to get and where to put it can sometimes be a little tricky, so we put together some tips and tricks on picking the perfect pot!

Plot your Spot

When picking your pot, make sure you have plotted out its location. Two things you will need to consider are:

  1. What you would like to achieve, are you after a statement? Filling an empty corner? or just adding a small touch of greenery to a room.
  2. Measure up your area! know how much space you have to work with.

Size is everything when it comes to picking the right pot or planter for your space. Too many small pots can make areas feel cluttered, but something too big can be overwhelming.

To make the area appear larger, we suggest a group of 3 pots with different heights. In small spaces try using slimmer cylinder pots, they don’t take up too much room but they add varying heights. For a Larger Space, try a bell shape, the broader base will fill the extra space!

If you do have space, don’t be afraid to make a statement! Large planters or pots can make a space look grand and will become a standout feature in the room.

How you place your pots can depend on what you want from them!

Rectangular planters can be used to divide a space or be used along a fence or retaining wall to create privacy.

A cluster of pots can be used to create a feature, Odd numbers typically look more natural but remember not to overcrowd! Try using 3 of the same style or different shapes to create different looks!
